International Certificate of Competence (ICC)
What is the ICC?
The International Certificate of Competence (ICC) is a widely recognised proof of competence for operating recreational yachts and pleasure craft.
It is accepted by many European countries and charter companies as evidence that a skipper has the necessary practical skills and knowledge to safely command a vessel.
The ICC is commonly required for yacht charter in destinations such as:
* Greece
* Italy
* Spain
* Croatia
* France
* Portugal
* Turkey
and other European cruising areas.
ICC Validity
The ICC is issued for a period of 5 years.
Upon expiry, renewal requires confirmation of continued eligibility under current regulations.
ICC with HTB Yachting
At HTB Yachting, the ICC is available as an add-on to our Bareboat Skipper course.
During your skipper training
the ICC assessment can be integrated into your practical evaluation. Once successfully completed, your ICC documentation is processed accordingly.
ICC Add-On Fee: €300
If you already hold sufficient sea miles and experience, ICC may also be issued following assessment and eligibility confirmation.
ICC Eligibility & UNECE Resolution 40
Citizens and residents of countries that are signatories to Resolution 40 are required to obtain their ICC from their own national issuing authority and not from IYT.
The only exception is if the applicant can provide official proof of residency in a country that is not on the Resolution 40 signatory list.
Examples of acceptable proof of residency:
* Utility bill (electricity or gas)
* Property tax bill
* Telephone bill
* Insurance document
If such proof of residency is provided, ICC may be issued through IYT.

Sailing Instructor
Oleksander is a sailing instructor with strong practical experience in yacht handling and navigation.
He works closely with students during onboard training and helps them build confidence in real sailing conditions.
Anastasiia Pidkuichenko
School Operations & Student Coordinator
Anastasiia holds an International Bareboat Skipper Sail certificate and a VHF SRC license issued by IYT.
She is responsible for student coordination, course scheduling, documentation, and daily operations of the school.
Anastasiia supports students before, during, and after their training and ensures smooth communication and organization.
